It`s been some time

...since I`ve posted here. The original concept of this blog was to share the various incarnations of `the ride` that I enjoy. Politics seems to have derailed it like they do to everything. I won`t stop posting about the important things going on in the world, but I `ll try to keep it more `ride` focused. 'cuz the road goes on forever. And the party never ends.

If I could have one thing for my Birthday?

I choose an end to human greed.

However, with our "govenment"  on the provincial level passing things like Bill 4 ... or the Candian Drug Policy Coallition (read: some asshats who obviously don't care about human dignity) fighting to "block the inclusion of life-saving harm reduction health strategies within future international drug policies" I don't really see that happening any time soon.Considering how incredibly successful harm reduction stratagies have been here in Vancouver at places like Insite and through other programs run by the PHS. It's not that somebody in power is sick of being shown up by this crew of compassionate individuals.... Want the real talk on what PHS is all about? Please read Ronnie's thoughts on the matter.

Oh ya, don't forget about what the provincial "government" has planned for the wolves...

Deffinetly been neglecting...

... this blog. This could stem from the feeling that posting here is a waste not only of my time but also the resources that are being used to power the machines that house the data contained on this page. Even these words I type right now could be construed as pointless, so I'll do my best to make them count. Since I don't use facebook or a cell phone my data consumption is less than most, so maybe I shouldn't be so hung up on this. However, I just can't seem to shake the feeling that I'm not doing enough. Everything is connected and our own evolution might be our downfall but that doesn't mean we can't try to better the situation.So go play outside... It might be our only chance.

Speaking of standing up: Thousands of people stood up for the Land on November 16th all across Canada. Is there any chance that creepy excuse for a leader heard what we're telling him? Would he even listen if he did? All eyes are on SWN resources while our illegitimate government to push it's agenda of socializing the risk while they privatize the profits.

Some peoples children won't stand by and allow this nonsense to continue. This Saturday there will be a fundraiser happening for the Warriors that the Crown, RCMP and corporate media are attempting to vilify and intimidate.


It's cold and there's snow on the mountains right now and although I'm very excited to start pushing snowflakes around, I can't seem to shake that yearning for summer beaches and warm weather.

Uh oh

Shit's going downhill fast around here.... Chairman Harper just signed the Comprehensive European Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) and the potential ramifications are devastating. Don't you find it strange that we haven't been consulted on this? In other news our domestic armed forces (aka. the RCMP) got a chance to use their sweet camouflage outfits and assault rifles in order to serve a court injunction . An injunction that was sought by a private corporation... http://www.swnnb.ca/ ... in order to continue fracking exploration in the backyard of the Mi'kmaq people.


Too bad they didn't use our tax dollars to buy some more appropriately hued camo colours... think autumn chuckle heads.
 The potential hazard to the water table is a risk the Mi'kmaq and Elsipogtog are not willing to take. So stand in solidarity with them... because if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

Is sometimes the only way to get where you're going. Especially when there's a sheer drop down into the clouds on your left...

and a solid tumble onto sunny boulders on your right.

Be sure to look around and enjoy the view because you might not be back this way for some time

and when you do, things might not be the same.

So take a minute to run your fingers through the moss and enjoy those perfect moments while they last.

Get lost!

... in the woods that is.

 

Going for a hike with your friends is fun, especially when you get to skate to and from the trail head.

 

Taking the path less traveled is just how I do things sometimes, so be sure to leave yourself some breadcrumbs in order to find your way home.

 

 No pain no gain (960 meters of gain to be precise). Everyone was all smiles once we made it to The Needles.

Hayato and I like to doddle taking photo's.... but in the end nobody got lost, and we all made it back to the cars safely.

This photo was taken more than a year ago while Laurel and I were on our honeymoon. I can't believe how long it took yo-bomba to find an excuse to get involved in other peoples business. Big thanks to queen and country for helping us down the road to war.  Good thing he didn't close Guantanamo.... sorry, what I meant to say was "Obama is a liar and should be impeached!" (sarcasm just gets the best of me sometimes)

Take a Hike!

 It was Hayato's birthday on Sunday, so we went for a walk in the woods...

 

 

... and some peoples children really enjoyed the awesome sound of a fracturing glacier as it echoed throughout the valley. Once again Hayato won the day without even trying.
